How important is the beginning of a chapter? What makes you keep reading? In this intensive three-hour workshop, we’ll talk about some important elements that are vital for keeping readers captivated. We’ll analyze some well-known novels, such as A Girl on the Train, The Sympathizer, A Storm of Swords, etc. and see why they work. Bring your current project with you and prepare to write. By the end of the workshop, you’ll know the tricks and learn how to write a story that readers can’t put down.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Weina Dai Randel is the debut author of two critically acclaimed historical novels The Moon In The Palace and The Empress of Bright Moon, stories of Empress Wu, the first and only female ruler in China. Weina was born and raised in China. She came to the U.S. when she was 24, and English is her second language. She has worked as a journalist, a magazine editor, and an adjunct professor.
