Writers in Neighborhoods & Schools

Oct 22 2011 6:46 AM

The Writer's Garret connects with people out in the community through Writers in Neighborhoods & Schools (WINS). WINS places professional writers into schools, after-school programs, and community organizations to engage children and adults in the literary arts. WINS offerings include creative writing classes, book clubs, poetry clubs, writing mentorships, literary magazines, visual arts and writing courses, and poetry slam workshops.

Our instructors have diverse backgrounds, with intense writing experience as the foundation. Many have MFAs in the arts. In addition to being widely published writers, many are photographers, musicians, and performers who have taught in unique locations here and abroad. All are committed to exploration of the self and the world through the written word.
