Chris Cleave's Little Bee has already appeared internationally on many top ten book lists for 2009. His debut novel, Incendiary, won a 2006 Somerset Maugham Award, was shortlisted for the 2006 Commonwealth Writers Prize, won the United States Book-of-the-Month Club's First Fiction award 2005 and won the Prix Special du Jury at the French Prix des Lectures in 2007.
A Yoruba, Babtunde Solarin was born and raised in Nigeria, West Africa. He is an accomplished poet, sought-after storyteller, and winner of a 2006 Highlights' Book Award for his featured tale "In the Footsteps of Mama Bobo." His stories are modeled in the tradition of the ancient West African Griots.

On Thursday, March 25th, 7 PM, The Writer's Garret invites you to join Chris Cleave (and other members of our community) for a "Soirée."
Cost: $35 per individual or $60 per couple. (Each registered individual or couple will receive one signed book in connection with this event.)

Chris Cleave will also be leading a Master Class in "The Power of Voice," Saturday, March 27th from 10 AM until 12 PM at The Writer's Garret.
