Dr. Njoki McElroy's 1012 Natchez Now Available

Garret member Dr. Nojki McElroy's book 1012 Natchez: A Memoir of Grace, Hardship, And Love is now available from Dallas-based Brown Books. Drema Berkheimer (CAMP):

Susannah Charleson (CAMP):
Scent Of The Missing: Love And Partnership With A Search And Rescue Dog [book] is forthcoming from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (April 14, 2010). Blackstone Audio will release the CD and MP3 versions of Scent Of The Missing coincident with the book's hardcover release, with the author narrating her own work. Thorndike Press will be releasing a large-print edition in the Summer of 2010. There are also currently plans to translate Scent Of The Missing for both Chinese and Polish audiences.

Marcia Cooper (Member / WITS) will be presenting a book review of Ann Patchett's Bel Canto, with with operatic selections, at The Point, Center for Arts and Education at C. C. Young, on Friday, March 5, 2010, at 3 PM. She will also be leading a Reader's Theater Workshop at The Point later in the Spring.

Holly Korbey (CAMP) received an Honorable Mention in the Glimmer Train Short-Story Award For New Writers.

Claudia Meyer's (CAMP) poem "The Elemental Mental State" has been selected by Naomi Shihab Nye to appear in a forthcoming issue of The Texas Observer.

Joe Milazzo (Director of Community Education and Outreach):
